2 Main ways to whiten teeth

In-house whitening

One way to whiten the teeth is through bleaching in the dental clinic. Over the course of the appointment (usually 1.5-2hours) the teeth will go 5-6 shades lighter. This is the quickest way to gain whiter teeth. By first having a scale and polish clean (routine hygiene treatment) before whitening, you will give your teeth the best conditions for whitening. Teeth whitening with a dental bleaching product involves applying the bleach product to your teeth for an appointed time and allowing it to 'pull out' and 'break-down' the stains creating whiter teeth, we then saturate your teeth in all the necessary nutrients and minerals to ensure they are as strong as ever, and extra white. For maintaining your white teeth we recommend using a whitening pen or regular whitening trays every month or so to keep your teeth at their new brightness.

Take-home whitening kit

The other approach to teeth whitening is with a take-home kit. This involves coming in to the clinic and having custom bleach trays made that will fit your teeth exactly. You will then be given a kit and all instructions to whiten at home. You will need to use this kit everyday for 2 weeks for best results. Over the days your teeth will slowly whiten. The trays are then yours for future bleaching and maintenance whitening. This is the best option for maintaining white teeth as you can use the trays regularly for top-up whitening to keep your teeth at their new brightness.
